Pushing My Way into Month 10

I’ve made it through month nine. Hard to believe it’s actually been nine months. The routine is near second nature now. A couple years ago if you told me I’d be doing this I wouldn’t have bought it.

I am proving something to myself here and hope this stands as proof to others that with just a little bit of effort anything is possible. The key word here is effort.

Self help books and fitness help books for me anyway, always seem to make it sound  so easy. Get rich over night, get the beach body in 6 weeks. Not realistic at all. Minimal effort is ok but with consistency. Consistency is most definitely the key to seeing results. Granted it wasn’t a walk in the park. This journey has definitely tested my self motivation. I grew up with nearly no type of self discipline so this has been the best thing I could have chosen to do for myself. Setting a good example for my son is the cherry on top. The work I’ve put in has been more than worth it. Had I just sat around these last 10 months as I had been, I am certain my condition would have only worsened.

So am I close to my goal? Well there really is no finish line to cross or goal to be met as the goal is to live this way for the rest of my life. I already seen where I was headed living it up, you know life in the fast lane, living the vida loca. I was going nowhere fast. Living a healthy lifestyle at least you go out swinging. Truth be told I am still in a hell of a lot of pain. The pain in my back alone is enough to drive you crazy. My tinnitus is of course still ringing away like there is no tomorrow. My shoulder is even more painful than before I started but, I have never felt better in my life. True story.

In the photo I am doing dumbbell flies. I do lightweight with high reps usually like 4 sets of 25 to 30. I couldn’t do that many when I first started out but slowly I was able to increase. Sure I can go much heavier but I don’t want to risk making my shoulder worse, plus as I have shared it’s been proven that lightweight and high reps is just as effective as going heavy with low reps. It’s what works best for you. Plus I am more interested in mobility and endurance.

Going in to my tenth month my one year mark is right around the corner. I hope you all keep coming around to see where this journey takes me. Peace and Progress to All! Thanks for reading.
