Determination

 

 DETERMINATION! The ability to continue trying to do something, although it is very difficult: a man of fierce/ruthless determination according to Cambridge Dictionary. 

 When I decided to adopt a healthy lifestyle I knew it wasn’t going to be easy; but yes, I was determined. I have in the past made some horrible decisions and used my strong will inappropriately defying everything and everyone to achieve the results I wanted even though they weren’t good for me or those around me. Life is funny like that. It seems like the wrong choices come about easily but doing the right thing is near impossible, but it’s only an illusion. It’s a matter of perspective. In reality it’s just not true. Granted doing the right thing and making the right decisions may be somewhat more difficult, but truth be told the rewards are also much more worthwhile. For once in my life, I was going to prove to myself that if I set my mind to it, as difficult as I knew it was going to be, that I could achieve what I believed. 

 In my half a century plus on this planet we call earth I have only met a handful of people that achieved their ultimate life goals. At the same time I have met countless people that quit, just gave up, and now rather complain and make more excuses than grains of sand on a beach. I know we all have what it takes to make or goals reality. We were all born with exactly what we needed to make it in life but we lose sight of it for whatever reasons. But on any given day we can choose to dig deep within ourselves and reconnect with our true selves, stop making excuses and achieve greatness, our own personal greatness. 

 I love the picture for this post. It speaks loudly to me. It is screaming DETERMINATION! I don’t get any pats on the back and I don’t want or need any. I am damn proud of myself and that is enough. I love myself for sticking to it. For not giving up, and for taking the time out to share my journey with others so that maybe I could inspire even one person that is sick and tired of being sick and tired, to make that life changing decision like I have. Don’t sell yourself short. We were all born to achieve greatness. We just have to choose to get up and claim it! We have to be Determined! Thank you for reading.
