Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader

The book in this post was a heavy read. Talk about a good mental work out. The topic was heavy but it was very well written. I think it’s very important that we as a people learn about our history as well as the history of others.

This book hit really close to home. I had a good idea where I came from and what my people endured; but this book goes deep into fine details and it was eye opening.

On a lighter note, the reading is going very well for me and the progress has been amazing. As long as the subject matter is interesting to me I can get through a book in a matter of days now. I am definitely feeling all of the benefits I spoke of in post #23 (15 Benefits of Reading Every Day).

Every great leader I have ever read about, every successful person I’ve ever read about were all avid readers. As they say a majority of successful people read books, while most common folks watch the idiot box better known as the television. Television is definitely junk food for the brain. I rather choose healthy food for thought.
