Reverse Curls
I try to mix it up daily so to keep the training days fresh and exciting. It had been forever since I had done reverse curls. I forgot how good they work your arms. Not a lot of people do reverse curls because you can’t do as much weight as you can doing regular curls. Most people rather like going heavy with low reps but reverse curls have a lot of benefits that regular curls don’t offer. Reverse curls work on the muscles that aren’t so visible; called the brachialis muscles. They lie underneath the bicep muscle and act as a structural bridge between the bone on the upper arm and the bone on the forearm. Not being that visible results in trainers not focusing on it.
They make for a very effective arm workout which targets your biceps and your wrists. They definitely help build a bigger and stronger arm structure. They help increase your grip strength and your forearms. You can do them with dumbbells, a straight bar or an ez curl bar.
I really like doing them as they hit muscles that are often neglected and it just adds to the variety of exercises I like to do. As with most weight lifting exercises I stick to lighter weight with high reps while trying to maintain perfect form. Maintaining perfect form most importantly helps to prevent injury. It also assures you are working your intended muscle group and it is the best way to ensure proper balanced muscle growth. It’s also the best way to progressively enhance strength.
No matter what type of curls I do I have discovered they are best done with a good cup of coffee. #coffeeandcurls
