Getting Strong Now
By now you must have noticed the books I post about have nothing to do with health or fitness, not yet anyway. I am adopting a healthier lifestyle and working out my brain is at the top of the list. I read daily. Not just books, I do a lot of research. Anything that pops up into my mind I look up. I used to have to get to the nearest library to do that back in the day so I am one that appreciates the internet very much. I take full advantage of it.
A lot of people like joking on people that use google for every little thing like that’s a bad thing. Ok, there is a lot of misinformation on the internet but that’s not an excuse for writing off the internet all together. I actually took a class in college that taught you how to use search engines such as google to find the most reliable information. I get blown away at how many people take a meme for face value when nearly all of them can be proven wrong within 10 seconds if you just research it real quick.
In just a few months of consistently reading I have noticed a huge difference. I am reading faster, and for longer periods without falling asleep. I definitely comprehend what I am reading much better as my focus gets better page by page. Just as with the progress with the training is obvious to me, so is the reading. The brain is like a muscle just as they say I have no doubts about that. When you see and feel the difference a bit of effort makes it is definitely a huge motivator to keep doing it.
The book I am reading in this post was my second time reading it. I have a good selection of books I have no problem reading several times. Just like a good movie you watch over and over you always come across things you missed.
For those thinking you don’t have time to read a book, it’s just an excuse. If you really want to read you make the time. Get up a little earlier and read a few pages or read before going to sleep. Reading actually helps you sleep better. Read while you’re on the porcelain thrown, on the bus, train or while sitting in waiting rooms. Sacrifice some facebook, twitter or Instagram time. Or sacrifice a little of your TV time bottom line there is always time if you really want there to be. For me, it’s worth it. If you haven’t already, read my post 15 Benefits of Reading Every Day. Knowledge is power when put into action! Thank you for reading.
