Fifth Weigh In
It had been just about three weeks since I last stepped onto the scale. I was pleased with the progress as I dropped another 2 kilos (4.4 lbs.). In just shy of four months I went from 89 kg. (196 lbs.) to 81 kg. (178.5 lbs.) that’s a 17.5 lbs drop. I was still in the cruiserweight class, but I was a much lighter cruiserweight no complaints at all.
I can’t sit here and say it was easy but I can say, so far I hadn’t tortured myself trying to follow some insane diet or some unrealistic workout plan. I dropped 17.5 pounds basically experimenting, trying things out to find what works best for me. The rules are, there are no rules really. Sure you can find one person that offers you the bod of your dreams if you follow their program to the T, but that is not the only way. You can carve out your own path and succeed. I am proving this.
Ok, to carve out your own path you definitely need to be self motivated. If you are not self motivated what better way to change that? Sure there have been days I wanted to give up but truthfully for the most part I was having fun with this and it was paying off in a big way. I was losing weight without focusing that much on losing it. I was definitely getting stronger. I still struggled with my medical issues but I was carrying myself much better. I wasn’t procrastinating nearly as much as I had been when it came to doing anything. There were pluses across the board.
If I could do this at 55 years old the way I feel every day, I have to believe anyone could do it, seriously. All I can say is, I wanted the change before I started, and grew to want it even more as the days passed. On any given day that I feel like giving up, feel like I don’t want it anymore, I think of my wife and children. They deserve it as much as I deserve it if not more.
I’m feeling proud and feeling good about myself for sticking to it. Yes You can lose more weight in the same amount of time but is it healthy? I want to lose weight but for good which means I have to change my lifestyle. That’s the goal really, changing my lifestyle. Losing weight is a bonus, that’s how I look at it. There are diets and exercise programs that I do find appealing but I know me, and this is definitely the better way to go. Once I get closer to my goals who knows I may try some of these programs but for now, I just want to form some healthy habits without making myself quit. Here’s to month five coming up! Thank you for reading.
